A while ago I was sent a bunch of products from Mellow Cosmetics to try out. I received lipsticks, baked eye shadows, blusher and a gel liner. Mellow Cosmetics is quite a new brand with products designed and tested right here in New Zealand. Their mission is to create high quality products at affordable prices. They sell a range of cosmetics that are cruelty free and paraben free. I wasn't asked to do this blog post but I wanted to show you swatches of the lipsticks. Although the packaging isn't great, i do love the colours.
The packaging is simple. A velvet black with a silver band. They have their logo printed on the lipsticks, along with stickers that tell you the name of the lipstick. I'm not a fan of the packaging. It feels quite plastic and non sturdy. The lid slips off quite easily, so just be careful if you decide to chuck it in your hand bag.
Apart from the packaging. The lipsticks are great! They have a beautiful range of colours. They advertise them as a "matte" finish. I would disagree and say its more so a satin finish. Not matte but not overly shiny. The texture is creamy and applies like a dream. Great for those who want a lipstick that feels soft on the lips. If you wear a lip liner underneath, that would extend the longevity of these lipsticks. They do wear away when I eat and drink.
